Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@scchristianacademy.school if you cannot find an answer to your question.

SCCA returns to the foundational basics of learning — strong reading, writing, mathematics, history, and science — while building character through a Christ-centered worldview. We emphasize discipline, consistency, academic excellence, and leadership development both in the classroom and through athletics.

South Carolina Christian Academy School offers grades 6-12

South Carolina Christian Academy is currently in the process of pursuing accreditation appropriate for private Christian schools. We are intentionally building our academic, governance, and operational standards to align with recognized accreditation benchmarks while already meeting South Carolina instructional requirements. We have been approved by SCACS to help build that accreditation. Our commitment is to academic excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement as we grow.

Our academic calendar meets and exceeds South Carolina’s required 180 instructional days. Missions Days, academic testing days, and structured school events are counted as instructional time.

We prioritize student brain development and original thinking. Any AI-generated assignments submitted for academic credit receive an automatic failing grade. Students are expected to submit self-generated work that reflects their own understanding and effort.

We believe that homework should be purposeful and relevant to the learning objectives of each course. Our teachers assign homework as needed to reinforce classroom learning, and provide feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and skills.

To enroll at South Carolina Christian Academy, you need to submit an online application form and attend an interview with our admission team.

SCCA utilizes academically rigorous, traditional curriculum designed to develop strong thinkers and articulate communicators. Our coursework emphasizes reading comprehension, student-generated writing, strong math sequencing, history & civics, science, and biblical worldview integration. Abeka and 1776 Curriculum will be used predominantly.

Students wear SCCA collared shirts with appropriate pants, jeans, shorts, or knee-length skirts. Shoes must be black, white, red, or yellow tennis shoes. No sweatpants, joggers, ripped jeans, Crocs, flip-flops, or slides are permitted. A pair of properly fitting khaki's will be required for special events. Our dress code promotes discipline, unity, and school pride.

No, SCCA does not offer transportation services. SCCA will use a school van for transporting participating students to events such as games or competitions.  Parental participation may be requested from time to time when numbers exceed van limitations. Parents who drive will need to submit copies of drivers license and current auto insurance. Backgrounds may be conducted. Parents will also need to give permission for their child riding in a vehicle not owned or operated by SCCA.

Yes. SCCA is one of the most affordable private Christian schools in the Upstate of South Carolina. We are committed to providing high-quality education at a tuition rate families can realistically manage.

The average class size at South Carolina Christian Academy School will not exceed 20 students.
